The band name is derived from the tree of life, which typically symbolizes the connection between all living things and all forms of creation, and which has been adapted to represent the band’s positive message of hope and unity. “We wanted to come up with a name that means something to everyone—regardless of whether or not people know its significance to us personally. The name “Trees of Life” held a unique meaning to everyone who saw it before anyone ever heard the music behind it. We thought that was pretty resonant, so it stuck.” said Smoof, the lead vocalist of TOL, when asked where the name came from.

Their musical style is a fusion of Reggae, Rock and Jam bands that have influenced each member individually to create the bigger picture that you see performed on stage.
