UNRESTRICTED is a fun, entertaining unit with mad chops. Formed in St. Petersburg in November 2016, the band covers tasteful artists from Jill Scott to Jamiroquoi, Michael Jackson to Wayne Shorter. Lead singer Coy Joy has a gorgeous, soulful opera-trained voice. Slim, Mr. Medicine Man, is a six-string bass monster of jazz fusion and funk. Chazzy on keys brings textural depth and the live party, and did we mention he can beatbox his ass off? The band has a second great singer, Russil. Thanks to his acoustic training, Russil is an imaginative guitarist who plays clean and sweet rhythm but can whip out Santana-esque lead guitar. UNRESTRICTED recently recruited drummerLawrence Jackson to keep the toes tapping and the rears in gear. The band has several songwriters and continues to write originals.
