The instrumentation ranges from a trio, with Phil on flugel horn along with bass and piano or guitar, to a quintet by adding a sax and drums. "Phil Provenzano and The Jazz Xperience" was originally formed to perpetuate the West Coast Jazz sound, such as that of Gerry Mulligan and Chet Baker, but has grown to include other mainstream jazz sounds, in addition to creating an identity all its own. **Inactive as of 4/3/21
