Ray Boone

Ray Boone

Acoustic, Americana, Country

ACMA member, Ray Boone first arrived in Nashville in the early 80’s.He himself did not come to play music, he came as a music fan and to provide support for his songwriter cousin, Larry Boone, who was making his mark in country music, as an award winning songwriter and artist with Mercury Polygram. Ray was surrounded by songwriters and music makers who encouraged him to write. As a writer he signed with BMI.
His song, “Totch Brown”, about a character from the Florida Everglades was recorded by independent artist Rickie Lee Tanner for his album “This Here”.
A year later country artist, Jake Clayton cut four of his compositions, “Down with That”, “Old Red Barn", ”How’s That Working for You” and “Means Everything”. These can be heard on Jake’s “By the Light of the Moon” and “Quarantine Sessions” CD’s.
The “High South” band had its first hit with his co-write “All We Need”.
The Americana Tropical Rock genre fit perfectly for his type of music with the influence of Florida Coastal lifestyle. Ray is in good company, writing with several of Nashville’s best and brightest. He penned all his EP releases of “Native Son”, “Island Songs”, and “Legacy” and has co-writes with well-known hit songwriters Phoenix Mendoza, Keesy Timmer and Walker Hayes. His recordings have been played on television shows “Legacy Trails",“Ray Van Horn’s Captains Journey” (Sportsman Channel), and "Family Photo Frame" (PBS).
Ray now lives with his wife Jody in Cape Coral Florida and tours performing Trop Rock Americana festivals, concerts and house concerts.
