Passerine was founded in 2009 by Carmela Pedicini and David Brain, later joined by Sara Stovall and Doug Conroy. They have been touring nationally and (occasionally) internationally since 2012, when they released their first CD. They have been featured performers at music festivals all over Florida and their show schedule typically includes everything from pubs to listening rooms, coffee houses to street festivals, big auditorium shows to intimate house concerts. Combining diverse musical backgrounds and interests in exploring American “roots” music, Passerine occupies a zone somewhere between modern folk, progressive bluegrass, and what is loosely called “Americana.” They completed their 4th full length CD in 2023.
