Ferengata OLD 11-2-14

Acoustic, Alternative, Blues, Classic Rock

Ferengata is a Tampa Bay band with a mixed musical menu, combining rock, Latin, Caribbean, and even jazz influences. The trio is comprised of Del Aitchison (bass, keys, vocals), originally from Canada, Dave Laracuente (guitars, vocals), originally from New York, and Jose Lorenzo (drums, percussion), born in Cuba but raised in New York. All are seasoned musicians who have shared the stage and studio with a variety of professionals throughout North America. They also have two CDs of original music under their belts, and their live show is an eclectic blend of originals and fan favorites from the last four decades of music.
The name "Ferengata" is a fictional word coined by author James Clemons which means "The Fire in the Heart of a Warrior". Coincidentally, the band was in the studio in 2006 recording their CD "Fire in the Heart" and were searching for a new band name. The name resonated with the band members and they adopted it as their own, with Clemons' blessing.
Ferengata has performed at many festivals throughout Tampa Bay, including Chasco Fiesta (under their previous name Feedback), the Strawberry Festival, the Harbor Sound Festival, Safety Harbor's Third Friday Festival, The Safety Harbor Wine Fest, and the Sunsets at Pier 60 Festival. They also play regularly at various clubs and restaurants throughout Central Florida, as well as corporate and private events.
